The Martha Stweart Side Of Me: {Baby Shower}

I was asked to help decorate for a baby shower since I had hosted for a boy before and I had most of the stuff. I used the same paper trees and I borrowed the same triangular banner from my sister in law that I used before (click). Because I gave away the tiny socks to the mom to be last time, I had to come up with a new idea to decorate the branches. I went to my SVG files, open the SCAL, put paper on the cricut and cut away! I think the branch tree still looked super cute! As a center piece I made a motorcycle diaper, it was so much fun to make! Everybody loved it! I found the instructions on this blog (click) She is seriously a pro at making them!

The Martha Stewart Side Of Me: {Advent Calendar & Nativity Frames}

With the craft group from church we made these cute advent calendar envelopes. Inside of each envelope is an activity for that day. Some of the activities that I wrote are: bake Christmas cookies, watch a Christmas movie, take silly pictures wearing a santa hat, read the story of the birth of Christ, etc… I had a great time embellishing them and talking with some nice ladies. I like how mine turned out, very festive! I cut the envelopes using the cricut and SCAL on white cardstock. I embellished them with different color ink, ribbon, buttons and stickers.

With another group of friends I got together to make this super cute nativity frames. I saw the idea on Pinterest and invited my friends to craft with me. It’s always ten times more fun to craft with friends! The pictures are terrible but believe me when I say it looks really cute! I bought some inexpensive frames, for the nativity silhouettes I did a search on google for free SVG files, and used my cricut and SCAL.

New York City

I can’t tell you how excited I was to be in NYC! The big apple, the city that never sleeps, where fashion week happens, yellow cabs, and central station! I had my eyes wide open trying to see and absorb every inch of the city. My cousin’s husband planned a great visit to the city. We saw Brooklyn bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Central Station, China Town, NYC LDS Temple, Little Italy, Central Park, Rockefeller Plaza and surroundings and Times Square all in one day! It was amazing!

Photography: {Brandon & LuAnn}

My cousin's husband is a photographer as well. We took the opportunity of swapping a session with him. He did ours, I did their family pictures. I had so much fun that day. They had their two doggies with them and we had Kala, they just had fun running around and being part of the photo-shoot. These are my favorites of Brandon and LuAnn. Seriously, how cute are they?!

Regios, estupendos...........APOLINEOS!!

The Martha Stewart Side of Me: {Cousin’s Craft Night}

My hubby and I traveled to Connecticut to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my cousin LuAnn and her husband. We had a great time. It was so neat to see and spend quality time with them.
LuAnn and I HAD to have a craft night. It is so much fun to craft with family, I wish we lived closer. We started the night making her a “families are forever” sign. Then we focused on Christmas crafts. We made some Joy blocks and finished with some super cute Button Christmas Trees. Fun, Fun Night!
Super tiernitos!

The Martha Stewart Side Of Me: {Count Your Blessings Board}

My friend and I recently hosted a craft night. We needed to come up with an idea for a Thanksgiving craft. We thought about a plaque maybe, something with “Be thankful” or “Give Thanks” in it. But that wasn’t exactly what we wanted. We wanted something that was useful on helping us recognize our blessings and what we are thankful for. We wanted something that we could use with our families year after year. That’s how this idea came about. I love our project! It’s was so much fun to make.
Supplies: 12x24 piece of wood – Two 12x12 scrapbook paper - Vinyl - Paper that matches your scrapbook paper – small nails – 1 hanging hook.
1. Glue or Modpodge the paper to the front of your board.
2. With a Cricut or other cutting matching cut the words “Count” “Your” and “Blessings” and numbers from 1 to 20. I did different fonts and sizes.
3. Stick the letters and number on the board. I did vinyl instead of paper, because It is so easy to unstick and stick again to make sure things line up.
4. Place the nails under the numbers.
5. Cut tags with the Cricut if your cartridge has that option. Or make your own.
Now start writing in each tag all the things you are thankful for. There are enough tags for the whole family!!
